As part of Wacom’s business units our Global Ink Division is responsible for Software Technology Research and Development. It was established in 2011, with main forces in Bulgaria, UK & US. Today for our growing location we are looking for a Software Engineering Manager.


Your Role
As a member of the global SW engineering organization you will support Ink division’s global development agenda – roadmap execution, solution delivery, outsourcing management. You will be responsible for managing projects and talent pool of 4-6 Engineers producing cloud services and web applications as part of Wacom’s Ink Ecosystem. You will work closely with the tech lead and the development team and you will be also involved in collaboration with QA and design teams.


Your Tasks
Responsible for the project organization of the engineering team
• Manages scope and delivery, maintains project release planning and execution monitoring
• Works on feasibility assessments, risks, architecture and technical design, features breakdown and estimations for projects as joint effort with Tech leads & Development teams
• Supports resource allocation and resource planning for the Application & Cloud team
• Supports improvement of infrastructure, tools, process and maintains project documentation and wiki articles
• Works in close collaboration with Product management, Design and QA, supports and facilitates backlog refinement, grooming sessions, design reviews and planning sessions
• Organizes outsourcing development as part of the project execution, supports and helps improve the outsourcing
• Participates in interviews, evaluates seniority and cultural fit of candidates
• Participates in the onboarding of new members for projects, team process and policies
• Supports performance reviews, helps with defining and following business and strategic goals

Job requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development role

• 1+ years of experience in engineering management role

• Excellent understanding of the software development life cycle

• Excellent understanding of OOP concepts, SOLID principles, and best practices

• Experience with building RESTful APIs and with complex API integrations

• Good understanding of frontend technologies

• Excellent understanding of development tools, systems and infrastructure

• Experience in working with distributed teams in a fully remote setup
• Experience in a client/business facing role and in multicultural environment
• Self-driven person, highly motivated and with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, very good spoken and written English
