As part of Wacom’s business units, our Global Ink Division is responsible for Software Technology Research and Development. It was established in 2011, with main forces in Bulgaria, UK & US. Today for our growing team in the UK, we are looking for Senior Solutions Architect.

As a member of our Architecture team, you will work closely with the Director of Ink Ecosystem Architecture in defining Wacom’s ink ecosystem architecture accommodating various business, compliance, security, cloud operations and cost models across the whole Wacom organization. You will help shape the platform and product architectures at application, SDK and services levels to ensure re-usability across all Wacom software products.


  • Work with the lead architect to develop high level architectures for new technology products and systems;
  • Help define internal engineering recommendations and procedures to improve component re-use between teams;
  • Support development leads to create detailed technical architectures that align with the overall eco-system architectures;
  • Support product and management teams on scoping future projects to ensure technical feasibility and promote close alignment between engineering practice and business goals.

Job requirements


  • Minimum 8 years industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years in an architecture role;
  • Proven history of designing successful client / server systems at scale;
  • Experience in management of cloud-based architecture (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google cloud);
  • Modern container technologies (docker, k8s etc.);
  • Ability to work as part of a cross organizational team interacting with both technical and non-technical teams;
  • Hands-on approach and good collaboration and communication skills;

Preferred experience with:

  • Event streaming or message bus systems (Kafka, Service Bus, RabbitMQ etc.)
  • DBMS / NoSQL technologies (Postgres, Mongo, Redis etc.)
  • CI pipelines (such as Jenkins)
  • C4 approach
  • Web 3.0. / Blockchain technologies
  • Use of ML or AI technologies in production deployments
